New Member from Toledo, Ohio
Hi everyone. I am a new member looking to get started in real estate. My wife, Ashley, and I have some money saved up to get started. We both have 8-5 jobs but want to start this side project and both have the vision of financial freedom and spending time with future kids.
We want to start in the Toledo area where we are familiar with the neighborhoods, but open to expanding down the road. We are open to both flips as well as rentals, still looking to land our first. The current strategy to do a small scale flip for a small profit and then get a rental or two with the cash.
We are both reading and listening to as much as we can absorb, very excited. Anyone in the Toledo area feel free to reach out!

Hi @Daniel Kramer- I pasted info below from another post introducing investors to Toledo...dude, seriously welcome to the best place in the country to invest in rental properties...we're a complete b*tch to flip in but if you profit here doing that then you're going to do super well most anywhere else. Buy-and-hold rental-wise we are hands down an amazing return for the cash you invest. I've been investing in Toledo for going on a decade and it's the only place I choose to place my money.
The trick is doing it all correctly...that's where your local investment association, your fellow investors, and the BP community come into play.
Welcome to BP, there is more information up here than you will ever be able to read...a surprising amount about Toledo!
I recommend you sign up for the podcasts here and read some of the articles depending on your niche and focus.
There are local organizations in Toledo- the Toledo REIA and Toledo Property Investor's Network - PIN.
I don't attend the other group but I'm VP of PIN so can answer most anything about them. Below is our Feb meeting topic. Last month I gave a 30 minute presentation on how I was finding, landing, and funding my personal deals in 2018...I bought over 20 in an active market.
