Newbie from Central WI

Greetings! My name is Vong Lee, am from Central WI (Wausau area), and currently work in healthcare.  So, I have no experience whatsoever in real estate investing, but am eager to learn, grow, and take action.  After stumbling upon BP on Youtube, and hearing Brandon's story I was hooked (to both BP and real estate investing).  These stories, especially those on the "First Deal" have truly inspired me to go out and take control of my destiny!  Sounds cliche, but true.  Like seriously, I have been researching, reading, and watching everything and anything on real estate investing.

My wife and I are looking to purchase our first home this year in which we already decided it was going to be a duplex.  We are hoping to make this a crucial learning experience, so whether we succeed, fail, lose, or gain, at least we took action. Very much looking forward to that first deal.  We primarily want to buy and hold with one or two flips in between, eventually.

I am hoping to create a solid foundation through networking, education, and action as I dive into the real estate investing world.  Thanks all! #BPNation

@Vong Lee BP will be a good source of information and know-how. You will be able to avoid the pitfalls by asking a lot of questions. It will be harder to lose money on a buy and hold but it will be very easy to lose money on a fit and flip. I would advise you to partner with an experienced rehabber on the first few flip opportunities. You will be able to provide money (down payment, loan) and time to the project. Wausau has a local REIA where you will be able to find out who is active in the area.

Use BP as a check and balance on the information that partner, realtor, and friend is telling you.

Best of luck
