New Guy Introduction

Dave Forman
Posted

New guy here hailing from a small town 40 minutes west of Houston,TX. I enjoy my work and I also lead the music for my local church. I'm currently the GM for a welding automation company in the Oil & Gas market that is tied into a larger international manufacturing group.

I constantly consume Bigger Pockets podcasts while driving between customers which can redeem several hours a day otherwise lost. I'm an avid reader and learner. For 8-9 years, I've wanted to do REI but was concerned about the depth of my knowledge base and specifically understanding how money flows in business. We've had 4 kids in that time span so I chose to keep my income steady but growing while consuming 100+ books and working up the ladder from a manufacturing welder into managing the business. This process has allowed me the opportunity to learn how to make financial, marketing, and staffing decisions with someone else's investment (we're privately owned). My wife is extremely risk averse so this slowly built her confidence in us leveraging my professional skill sets outside of the W2 for greater financial gain.

My initial strategy will be flipping small, inexpensive single family homes. There is a significant hole in my local market that is not being met. Rehabbing these houses will put them right in the target opportunity for resale. My hope in joining this group is to exchange ideas, gain knowledge, and potentially connect with people who might find working together mutually beneficial. Thanks for having me! Here's to making a killing and taking care of our families! (kids are awesome...and expensive 😁)
