Newbie and lurker finally coming out of the shadows. Have considered investing in real estate since the 1990's but never had (or didn't think I had) the means, knowledge, or impetus to do so.

What prompted us (my wife and I) to seriously consider investing in RE began over the last year when we were looking to upgrade our residence from a condo to a SFH, and keep our condo as a rental property. However, considering the inflated prices in the Denver metro area and front range, we decided instead of getting stuck with a new mortgage payment on a residence that would cost $200,000 more, that perhaps it would be wiser and make more financial sense to stay put and invest our money and efforts into RE. That's when we landed on BP.

Our goal is SFH/duplex buy and hold and then consider other strategies as we get our feet wet and gain more experience. I'm an independent insurance agent starting my 26th year in the business and within 10 year years away from my chosen retirement age, however assuming our success in REI, I look to retire several years earlier and then do REI full time.

I look forward to meeting others and making some mutually beneficial REI relationships. So happy to have found BP which has made this long time dream a probability!
