Student from Brisbane, Australia,

Hi all,

I'm a student in Brisbane Australia with a strong interest in learning to invest. I've read a few beginners books on personal finance and am currently part way through The Intelligent Investor. After this I plan to tackle some of the suggested books from guests on the Bigger Pockets Podcasts, such as E-Myth, Rich Dad Poor Dad (I've liked one of Kiyosaki's others that I've read), and much more on the topic.

As I don't have the money to immediately begin down this path, my aim's to learn as much as I can so that I may attempt to avoid the common mistakes. Bigger Pockets is something that's already given me much motivation to pursue this. I've recently been exposed to the fantastic power of having mentors, and this has greatly assisted other parts of my life. Within real estate, I have still yet to find someone that I can discuss things with over a coffee.

As an aside, the city that I live in has grown very quickly over the past 5 years, and I'd love to begin with a first unit to rent to simply get started along the journey.

I'm currently seeking any worthwhile RE associations to join and network with, and will take on board any advice and recommendations the Bigger Pockets community is willing to share. I hope that by exploring the forums, I'll come across the fantastic information and members alluded to in the podcasts.

Thanks for reading!
