Seeking a mentor in NC

Hey, I’m totally new to the world of RE but I know that I want to be a property manager with a brokers license here in NC. I have not started my pre-licensing course yet (August) but I want to be as fully prepared as possible. I still study every day. How do I find a mentor that is willing to guide me at this stage? Would it be possible to shadow a PM or broker? I welcome any direction or suggestions. Thanks!
