Philly, PA Introduction
Hi!
I've been visiting this forum for some time and reading about real estate investment for even longer. I thought its about time I started doing something and BiggerPockets seems like a great place to start and potentially make some connections and possibly partner up with some people. I guess I should start with a short introduction.
As I mentioned previously I've been interested in investing for some time. Started reading about it around the age of 16, at the time i obviously didn't have the resources to begin. Around the age of 20 I finally started to amass a decent nest egg and managed to do one deal but then became apprehensive to continue as the straight upward price trajectory continued and deals became few and far between.
Just a quick blurb about myself... I'm now 26, a recent father of 1 and a Candidate in the Chartered Financial Analyst program, a Financial Engineer (its an odd mix of several areas such as actuarial mathematics, finance, software engineering). I love backpacking, hiking and camping. Also big into road biking (bicycling that is). I also recently purchased a new motorcycle, a Kawasaki KLR 650(AKA baby #2 ), I hope to do a lot of adventure riding.
Now that I have my new daughter. I've started seriously thinking of my future again and really feel that real estate is the path of least resistance to build long term wealth (and possibly an early retirement so i can see my daughter). So my interest in real estate investment has started to perk up again as prices have dropped and deals have become more common.
That all being said is there anyone out there in the Philly area that would like to take a "newbie" under their wing and potentially partner up on a couple of deals? or does anyone know of any good resources; agents, lawyers, accountants, etc that they could recommend.
Thank you for your time!
