Hi everyone,

My husband and I are wanting to get on the path to owning rental property.  We currently own a single family home that we plan on selling and then purchasing either a duplex or a 4-plex in the area. We have been reading real estate books, listening to the podcasts, and looking at mls listings but it is all rather intimidating still. I can not wait to get started in the discussion and make some connections.

Hello Ashely,

I have several rentals in Madison, Huntsville and the surrounding areas. I haven't found anything on MLS that is worth investing in right now. Most of the deals are being made before they hit MLS or if a good deal comes up, the realtors are buying them themselves and then trying to flip them to us. My best advise to you is to stay away from the NW part of Huntsville. It is a very rough part of town and most people are just trying to dump these properties to get out from under them.

William
