Intro from Vancouver, WA

Stumbled across this app by looking for some ideas on the internet. A little about me: Ever since immigrating to this wonderful county 25 years ago, I remember dad wishing all of his children to own a piece of real estate. Seemed impossible to a man who brought his 4 children with just $400 cash and a $5000 debt to the Lutheran Church for the flight to the US. A lot has changed since, this is truly a land of opportunity! The love for real estate instilled by my dad is still in me. In addition to owing our home, I now own 2 rentals. Lately, I have been entertaining the idea of going into commercial properties. My husband is very hands on, General construction contractor. There are so many of you on here who don’t mind pouring their knowledge and wisdom into the new generation of investors. What advise would you give someone who had $40k and wanted to invest into real estate? I am in the Vancouver, WA area.

@Irina Kovalenno- good for you that you want to get into this! Your father must be proud of what you have accomplished so far, and the progress you will likely make going forward.

I would suggest, before jumping into something, going to a couple of Real Estate meetings near you. It's funny I should suggest this as someone that hasn't been to one yet, but I will be going to one this month and I have a feeling things can move faster after I have done that. There is power to meeting others face to face and being able to talk real estate.

So far, one thing I have been able to do from at home is connecting with other investors on this site through the PM and having a phone conversation with them. Just being able to discuss what you have done so far, the options available to you now solidifies your thoughts and gets you ever ready for action.

Good luck!

One more tip: get active here on the site! I recently decided to focus on getting more active and hope it will help me move forward on my RE journey.
