Getting serious about buying first property! From Irvine, CA

Hi BP community,

My name is Jerry Hsieh and I currently reside in Irvine, CA. I am a personal finance nut! I love reading everything related to personal finance and implementing it. Naturally, I have been reading a lot about real estate investing and have been just a consumer on this site for years. Now I am ready to commit to take action and buy my first property, but could use the help of the BP community.

Given the high property prices where I live, and low likelihood of finding a cash flowing property here, I would like to start with an out of state rental property. I am looking ideally for a multifamily 2-4 unit property costing less than $300k that cash flows. In my search, which entailed looking at all cities that have direct flights from Santa Ana airport (in case I need to be there), I have basically narrowed my search to Phoenix, AZ and the surrounding suburbs.

Looking forward to joining this great community that has been helping millions on the quest to financial freedom!

Thanks,

Jerry
