Thank you everyone for having me on here and I look forward to meeting some of you in the future. My name is Chris Collins and I'm located in San Diego, CA.

A few weeks ago a friend of mine asked me if I had ever heard of the podcast 'DeeperPockets.' I plainly replay no, and when I left I sat in my car, opened the podcast app and started listening... Life changing moment! Thank you Allen. 

Anyways, I've been in commercial real estate for the past 6 year mostly focused on financing commercial property. I'm located in San Diego and work for an amazing capital markets brokerage. I've learned a ton, originated nearly $1 billion in loans and seen a lot of folks over the years build incredible portfolios/wealth. I've been fortunate enough to work on all commercial product types including apartments and lots of mobile home parks (MHC's).

In 2013 I invested in my first property, an 8-unit building here in San Diego and it was a great way to kick off my side investing career. We had to evict everyone in the building and do a full rehab due to the condition and huge upside in rents. During this process we realized that the building was leaning and ended up having to lift the two story building to replace the foundation and use pipe piles correct the problem.

In 2016, I was able to invest in a small coastal boutique hotel. The hotel had never once been marketed online. Can you imagine with all the tech we have today? Our main investor, a very well known boutique hotel operator in SoCal took the property over, fired and rehired the staff and we were in business the next day... We've have outstanding success and plan on doing a $1.5 million renovation of the hotel in the next 2-3 years. We're really excited to see the outcome of this deal.  

Each of the deals mentioned above were heavily syndicated with a great preferred return structure and we are all making good $$$.... Now, my goals for 2018 and beyond include 4 things:

• Invest in my first property on my own w/ my fiancé
• Build a solid team
• Build a portfolio by investing in 2-3 deal per year moving forward. 
• Become a mentor and share my knowledge of real estate capital markets and investing.
