Hello, just joined the forum. I’m from Yukon, Oklahoma and just getting into real estate. I currently work for a directional drilling company as a directional Driller in the oilfield. I’ve been researching rental properties, flips, etc. I’ve also looked into starting a llc to develop business lines of credit to help with funding in the future. I really have no mentor and it’s kind of embarrassing but basically everything I’ve learned has been through google, YouTube, and forums like this. I’ve been reading through sticky threads and the local forum on here to eventually develop contacts. Thanks for all the info and I’m glad I found this forum!

Welcome! I am an investor in OKC as well. No worries about a mentor. It’s funny how we continue to talk about “A” mentor. I suspect that most of us do not have a mentor. I feel like when we say “mentor” we picture in our minds an old rich guy sitting in his chair siping bourbon and smoking a cigar at the country club telling us the secrets of business. Lol. But to me I have changed my mental image and philosophy of what a mentor is. A “mentor” to me is my mental manifestation of that old rich guy but in reality is just a funny mental image that represents my plan to grow an educate myself in the business. With that said this forum is part of my education. Therefore, my mentor. YouTube and podcasts are a part of my plan. Therefore, my mentor. I have friends in the business who I chat about investing to. Therefore, my mentor. So I would argue that you do have a mentor! Just my weird ways of viewing life😉
