Newbie from Long Island, New York

Hi everyone, I'm Shellon! A newbie to BiggerPockets and to Real Estate Investing. I've always wanted to start investing but I was afraid. Afraid of the unknown, afraid of so much this was around 2005. However, here I am and I'm ready. There is this feeling within me that I can't shake that is pushing me towards investing. 

So here I am!

I attended a free weekend work shop in May and was told it would cost $44,000 to attend the advance class and be connected to a network of other investors. I liked their system, but I don't have $44,000 to sign up. However, I decided to research and heard about BiggerPockets from a friend. 

I'm NOT giving up because this IS HAPPENING for me. 

So here I am seeking to connect with others. I took the free course here at BiggerPockets on beginners guide to Investing and I will continue to utilize all the resources BiggerPockets has to offer. I'm committed and will do work each day towards my goal.

I need help and I'm coachable, teachable and committed to do what I MUST do.

Seriously...don't do the $44k "course"...

It's not necessary IMHO...just start from podcast number 1 and listen to one or two a day (or more if you have the time) until you're all caught up.  

Do all the guides that are available for free here on BP...

Then do a simple google search on areas of development where you will get the most return that you're looking for, be it cash flow or appreciation.

I honestly was scared too and am STILL scared.  I just closed on a duplex (my first investment property) and a few hiccups have occurred along the way...
