Chicago, IL - Newbie - Looking to get started/take action

I've been listening to bigger pockets podcast for a month or two now and absolutely love it. My wife and I have been in Chicago for about 1.5 years now. Before that we were in Southern California for 6-7 years (San Diego and then L.A. for just 1 year). I work from home and my wife has a job where "promotions" can be plentiful if we are willing to move. We currently live (rent) in a 1 bd 1 bth condo in the Roosevelt Square area. It's a newer building (2006) and I want to put an offer in to buy the place from the guy that owns the condo. I'm just tired of paying rent and it not going to anything. The uncertainty is if we ever move again and then keeping and renting this place out.

I look forward to learning and then putting things into action with a solid game plan.

Thanks,

Nate
