Newbie from Lake Charles, LA
Newbie here from Lake Charles, Louisiana. First time posting here on BP as I just found the site a week ago. I've been reading LOTS of REI books over the past month after I decided that I want to stop dreaming and take a deliberate step to becoming more educated on the subject. I have a couple more titles on my list that I would like to read, and then want to begin looking for my first investment. I would love to find a duplex but they aren't extremely common here, but I also would't mind a SFR to get my feet wet with the process. My goal is to have one investment property by the end of the year and then pick up the pace from there.
Any investors here from the SW Louisiana area on BP, or any real estate investing groups in SWLA? I would very much like to find and attend any group meetings as I prepare to jump into REI!
