Hi from the Pittsburgh Pennsylvania area!

Hey BP,

My name is Ryan and I am from SWPA. My family and I still live in the area and we love all that it has to offer! Like most other new comers I stumbled upon BP while doing some google searching and was instantly hooked! The community here has a wealth of knowledge! It is so interesting to hear about all of the  strategies here that either work or don't!

I work just south of the city and live a little farther east. This provides me with a commute that I used to hate until I discovered the BP podcasts! I'm slightly addicted now, and I'm almost through all of them within a few months time. I lived in Happy Valley for a few great years getting my engineering degree, and currently attend Pitt working towards obtaining my MBA.

I don't have much of a background in real estate, but I have a burning desire to learn! I was kind of forced into the business a few years ago as I kept hearing about how some family investments weren't cash flowing as they should be. I stepped in armed with BP knowledge and was able to make a positive impact almost immediately! It was totally rewarding! I have been creeping on the site for years, but never actually posted anything thinking that I had nothing to offer the community of professionals here. I'm finally ready to make the jump. I have questions, and like most newbies I have been searching for the perfect undervalued property that cash flows six figures and requires no maintenance up front, or on the back end really. HAHA!! Well, after crunching the numbers on a bunch of places I feel that I am better prepared to enter the game now, with more realistic expectations.

I'm looking forward to making some connections here and seeing where this journey from bystander to investor takes me.

So BP, any fellow yinzers out there willing to grab lunch or a beer sometime?

RC

Hi @Ryan Coffman welcome to BP!

I second Jay's suggestion of going to the local groups. Our South Hills group is actually scheduled for the third Thursday though (just a typo).

So the next one would be February 16th at 630 PM at the Kings in Bridgeville. I hope to see you there! The main Pittsburgh REIA meeting is the same week on Tuesday.

Best of luck!
