Investor from Montana
Hi,
Dennis here. New to the community. Have done several real estate deals as a private, neo-phyte, real estate investor. I'm looking at buy and hold, multi-family units in an attempt to increase rental income as one of my multiple streams of income. Hope to learn lots from other community members and share from my experience if and when helpful to others.
My wife and I have lived in rural Montana for the past 12 years, and love it here. I'm of retirement age having spent 30 years in the field of child and family, and adult mental health, in various capacities, and about a decade in the timber industry as a helicopter logger, timber cruiser, fire fighter, etc. (The stuff of the young).
Still love the out doors; hiking fishing, hunting, camping, or just drives through this gorgeous country. I like to say you never drive through the same Montana twice!
Educationally, I hold a Masters in Applied Behavioral Science, from John Bastyr University in Seattle, Wa. My courses were in Management and Consulting.
Current occupation, or preoccupation as it may be, we are small business folk and as one of our primary businesses, we own and operate a pizzeria. 10 years in business as we go into the new year. I love being a pizziolo for my community.
Overall, our real estate investments have been very good for us. Only a hand full over 15 years, but started out being creative by using a private loan and a credit card to put together a down on a property. Today, I have more equity in a few properties than is necessary, and could come up with investment funds without having to bight such a huge debt.
I look forward to meeting you, and other kindred spirits here in the community.
