Hi all!

I'm 27 and only started to get an interest in real estate investing over the course of the past year for these reasons:

After working the same 9-5 job for the past 4 years since college, I'm starting to see that this very well could just be the rest of my life unless I want to change it. I don't hate my job at all, I'm very lucky that my job is creative and not boring or anything, but I still have to answer to someone everyday, and I would like to be free of someone over my shoulder and being around the rat race mentality, and I figure since I'm young it'd be good to get a head start in making changes to take control of where my life is headed.

So my goal is to build enough wealth and sustainability through real estate to become financially free in the next 10 years, and quit my job. I will still probably be freelancing for them or others to make extra money so I can continue to invest, but at least I will have the choice to do so.

To start,

I would like to become a landlord to make some cash flow, and after reading BP's rental properties book, I think I'd like to househack a duplex and practice being a landlord with that first. This is all speculation so far though. I still have a lot to learn of what exactly I want and am working on my plan.

A more far off personal goal would be to acquire some land to have my own dream home built here in central florida. It wouldn't be a big house by any means, but be more focused on intertwining somewhat with surrounding nature, away from the hustle and bustle. Just a nice get away! Kind of like a tiny home lifestyle but not as extreme as that. Not looking to "get off the grid" necessarily.

Looking forward to learning here and trading information. Thanks!
