Hi Everyone!

My name is Alison, and I became interested in investing in real estate as I searched for my own home. The search thrust me into the world of co-ops (White Plains, NY), condos, single family homes, and multi-family homes. Plus, it led to all sorts of discussions about interest rates, move-in ready homes, fixer uppers, and what type of work on one is worth the return.

I've decided to wait to buy my own home so that I can potentially invest my savings and boost them first. This is my main priority for the next 6 months to a year.

I'm also interested in learning about real estate as a long term investment. I'm thinking of retirement income here.

I found biggerpockets.com via Apple podcasts and the forum from there. I also have some books I'm reading to educate myself on the industry and to narrow down my potential areas of interest.

I have a job, in financial markets, that I thoroughly enjoy, but I'm not looking to the markets for the additional income I'm looking to build.

Any helpful hints or resources you can direct me to would be much appreciated.

Thank you,

Alison
