Newbie from Sacramento California
Hello All! I am currently a Firefighter/Paramedic in the SF Bay Area and i'm just getting started in the real estate investment field. I am looking to broaden my horizon in specifically the Multi Family arena, I have a real interest in that. I have no former experience aside from purchasing 2 homes back in 2006/2007 and renting one of those out. I would love any suggestions on courses I should take, good CPA's, RE Attorney's ect. Any info will help. Thank you!!

Hi @BrandonColar ; Welcome. Well you found the right forum for Real Estate. I take my hat off to you for what you do. I went to nursing school years ago, and so I know how tough it can be. I'm a Realtor here in Sacramento and originally from Alameda. Looks like you're from Elk Grove so I presume you have a good handle on Sacramento. Do you know that we were just named the #1 city in the entire nation for rent increases, and jumps over the last year? This is true because I'm also a Certified Property Manager here and I have seen it with my own eyes. Having said that, that's not good for your avg. family, but it's been really good for investors. I know that Sacramento is a great place to invest, I know the areas that are booming. Multi family housing (as you wrote), are great ways to buy and hold. My suggestion (since you asked) is to find a great deal on a multi family property that needs some work (not a fixer though), and rent it out. If you need assistance in this area I'm here. I have 2 great experienced Realtors on the San Francisco & peninsula side as well if you need a referral. One of my oldest friends is a Real Estate attorney but he is in Walnut Creek, and my CPA is in Sacramento (also top notch). If you would let me know where your search will begin that will help with advice. As for learning more, look up Phil Pustejovsky on Youtube, the guys knows his stuff. You do not need to buy his program although I would highly recommend his book & videos. All right good luck to you in this new adventure.
