New member from Michigan

[Cole Stevenson]

Hello! My name is Cole Stevenson and I'm very new to real estate. I was born in Detroit and raised in Ypsilanti. I suppose I feel a certain kinship to the greater metro Detroit area and that's where I intend to do business. I currently work in the auto industry for Ford Motor Co. The work is unchallenging and monotonous. I got turned on to real estate with the thought that I could be my own boss, make my own hours, pursue my own projects and enjoy being challenged in the process. I can be somewhat fastidious and some times dwell on small details, however, it is from a source of determination and a strong work ethic to strive for excellence. 

What I want to achieve in real estate is financial independence, long-term investment strategy, practical knowledge and the ability to teach what I learn. I love the feeling of being turned on to something awesome and I love the feeling of turning people on to awesome ideas. I believe real estate can take me where I want to go. 

I discovered BiggerPockets looking for sites where I could network with investors to begin hunting down deals. After visiting the site I'm curious to see how much more useful a tool it can be.
