Completely new but eager to learn

Hello out there,

I've always been interested in real estate and have a background in construction management, both residential and commercial.  I've never been involved with buying or selling real estate, but my initial thoughts are that this is something I want to pursue while I still have my day job (which I really enjoy).   My ultimate goal is for income growth and retirement.   Very willing to learn and believe I already bring a certain skill set to the table with my current professional background.   Interested in meeting others who are like-minded as myself and who are willing to teach.  I in turn am willing to share my experiences as well.   I believe that I have a realistic initial approach in that I'm not expecting to get rich over night.   I like to formulate a plan and then execute that plan with the understanding that you always need a plan B (and maybe plan C).

I'm currently spending my time reading and researching whatever I can on real estate investing which is how I came across BiggerPockets.com.  For the time being, I'll continue to do just that until I figure out how I want to jump into this pool.  I'm very eager to hear about 1st hand success stories and/or failures for that matter.  Until then, good luck to everyone out there.  I'm sure I'll run into a few of you in the future.
