Hello from Portland Maine!

Hello everyone, my name is Hunter. I'm quite new to the idea of real estate investing, but want to learn as much as possible. I'm interested in the idea of house hacking, and purchasing multi and single family homes (hopefully working my way up to grander acquisitions) . Not sure if anyone else is in the area, but if you are and frequent the forums I'd love to talk with you. This area (south portland) feels like an expensive place to get started. Any tips, trick, or advice is welcome.

There is a group that meets in your area and several members down there. Although prices are high it doesn't mean there aren't good deals. You just might want to learn where the wholesale priced homes are and master that way of finding them. Whether it be probate, pre-foreclosures, foreclosures, vacant homes, auctions, etc. Maybe you will have to start with mobile homes.
