I'm a political consultant who just moved to San Diego after 8 years in Washington DC. I'd like to diversify my income stream, and am looking for income producing properties. I've been listening to real estate podcasts for a few months, and find BiggerPockets to be among the most educational and entertaining.

I rented out my house when I left Washington, so I own one property. San Diego seems to be perhaps even more over-priced than DC. I grew up in Tulsa, OK, and still visit my mother there frequently, so I am looking for rental properties in that market.

There is much I don't know, so I hope to benefit from the proverbial wisdom of the crowds here.

Hi Steven,

Welcome to BP!! Yes it is expensive out here in CA, but I am sure people would argue it is far from overpriced. I believe you will find BP to be a great resource for your success in REI. I would definitely seek out those members in your target market asap. I have had great success thru BP in finding other investors in my market even though I am located out of state. Best of luck to you going forward.

Cheers,
