Hi everyone.  I've been a member for a few weeks now so I figured it was time to introduce myself on the forums.

As with a lot of investors I became interested in real estate and investing when a friend gave me a copy of "Rich Dad, Poor Dad" while we were out on a military deployment.  At the time though we were in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea on a ship.  Needless to say it took awhile to implement anything I had learned.

I dabbled in investing while I was still in the Marines but our deployment cycle at the time was pretty insane so I didn't get much beyond having a few single family rental homes on the side.

I medically retired after a back injury a few years ago.  I moved back to Jacksonville (Camp Lejeune Marine Corps Base/Marine Corps Air Station New River area) since it has a great rental market and is a place where I can relate to my fellow Marines down here.

I became a Realtor as I figured that would be a good way to have some income I could use to start building my investments and a great way to have good information on the local market.  So far it is going better than expected and I am very happy with how things are working out.  I am mostly interested in buy and hold rental properties.  I do work with investors who are into flipping and wholesaling as a Realtor.  I'm happy to help them out but buy and hold is my personal goal.

I'm looking forward to meeting some like minded people here on BP.  I haven't met many Realtors who have an interest in investing so it's always nice to meet some like minded people.
