New House Hacking Multifamily Commercial Real Estate Investor

Hello BiggerPockets, 

This is Seth Myers form Kalamazoo, Michigan. I am 22 years old and have been interested in doing real estate for 6 months...time to take action. I am interested in getting started investing in multifamily real estate to reach my financial goals. I am interested in learning as much about investing in House Hacking, Multifamily and Commercial real estate. If any of you have any suggestions to specific books, blogs, podcasts, etc. I would love to learn more about this business to eliminate the mistakes that can be made and to give me a head start on the competition.

Welcome to BP! Below are the 3 primary reads that helped me learn about MF investing and led me to pick this as my focus:

1. ABCs of Real Estate Investing by Ken McElroy

2. Wheelbarrow Profits by @Gino Barbaro

3. Multifamily Millions by David Lindahl

I've also been recently listening to the "Best Ever" podcasts by @Joe Fairless as well...highly recommend.

     Because you can't househack commercial RE - according to Dodd/Frank :)

    So, which one are you - a househacker, or a commercial RE investor? Can't be both lol

    Of course @Ben Leybovich lol I'm interested in starting out with house hacking a duplex, triplex or fourplex then continue to larger multifamily apartments.

    Thanks for the welcome address! 

    I haven't heard of the last two books so I will definitely check them out. 

    Is the podcast exclusively on MF? Anyway I will check that out as well. I already love the BiggerPockets podcasts I just can't get enough of them!
