Hello Everyone!

I have popped on to BiggerPockets from time to time over the past year - read posts, listened/watched a few casts.  Thank you @Joshua Dorkin for putting this together.

I have made the decision to start building a portfolio of assets - $100MM is the goal.

What I have been missing in my life is a team and/or network of like-minded people to associate with and help each other.  I just read a post by @J.Martin - about him quitting his job and it impacted me.  The way he showed his appreciation for the network and friendships he met in this community during his journey was awesome.  I would hope to do the same thing.

I currently help small businesses across the country get started with a CRM called Salesforce.com.  I am not employed by Salesforce; I am what is called an implementation partner.  I know how to synthesize and bend it to any business model.  I am pretty good at it - but I starting asking myself at the end of last year:  just because I can do it, should I be doing it?  It hasn't been my goal or dream.  Real estate has.  Look at the books I read and you'll see mostly books about real estate - not how to program Salesforce.

I was involved with commercial real estate, primarily office, in my local area back in 2004-2008 as a commercial real estate agent.  I was a CCIM candidate and enjoyed being involved in many transactions during that time - leasing, buying, selling, assigning, etc.  But the market changed and I didn't feel I was in a position to ride out the coming storm while raising a family.  Here I had left a comfortable job at HP (Hewlett-Packard) to go into real estate to build assets - and several years later was no further along - other than good practical experience.

I now have a burning desire to accomplish what I set out to do years ago.  I am looking to build a portfolio of value-add multi-family properties in different markets across the country.  I will be looking at mid-size properties between 20-200 units.

I look forward to meeting others going towards the same goal - if you're in the local area (Sacramento) or bay area, let's meet up.

Thank you again!
