New member interested in Rentals

Hello,

My name is Brian Pietraszkiewicz. I am originally from New Jersey but currently live in the San Francisco area. I am looking into possibly moving to the Houston area within the next 8 months. I am very interested in buying a SFH to start out my Real Estate adventure. My idea is to find something not too expensive and live there for about a year while fixing/rehabbing some things. Once ready to rent I can find a new place to live and start renting the old one out. I would like to hold onto this until the Note is paid and starts to generate full profit as my first rental property.

I am not sure where in Houston is a good place to look for such a home.  Also currently living in California provides some obstacles in terms of understanding the area and market in Houston.  I had family at one time living in League City and always remembered that place to be rather nice.  So I am starting to look for homes in the League City area.  Any advice on where in Houston to look for homes to buy and hold and rent out long term would be greatly appreciated.  I am just looking to get in touch with someone who has knowledge of the area to help start out a hobby in Real Estate.

Thanks,

Brian
