Hello fellow BPers. I've listened to the podcast for a while now but recently signed up for the forums in an attempt to network more with my fellow Oregonian investors and get back into the REI business. For various reasons I've found myself under-employed at the moment and am currently looking for a job in the Portland area. After 10+ years of self employment I dread going back to a cubicle in the corporate world and am not really sure if I am employable in a corporate setting anyway:)

If anyone is looking for boots on the ground, inspections, or any kind of help in their investing business please let me know. Besides being extremely motivated and hard working here are some of the skills and experience I can bring to your table:

  • Oregon State licensed home inspector.
  • 20+ years experience in residential construction. I'm comfortable on the job site as a project manager, talking to customers for new sales and issues that arise during construction, and in the office as an estimator, scheduler, and materials coordinator.
  • 15+ years in the medical device industry as a mechanical engineer. This might not apply to residential construction as much but I learned how to document things well and how to deal with vendors.
  • 3 years owning a mortgage brokerage. I learned the ins and outs of home lending and how to work the phones in a fast paced competitive industry. I also had to deal with direct mail marketing and became fairly good at it. From this experience I also learned how to be a good direct-to-homeowner salesman over the phone.
  • 4 years as a California State licensed realtor. I mostly used my broker license for my own deals so I could collect the commissions rather than giving to someone else.
  • 10+ years as a long term buy and hold investor. I currently own 3 SFRs, a triplex, and a small 10 unit apartment.
  • 6 fairly major rehab projects on my own primary residences. I try to take advantage of the tax loophole that allows me to sell one tax free every two years.
  • ICC certified for residential inspections, I know how to read a code book.

If anyone out there could use my help or knows someone else who could please get in touch. I'm flexible on work schedule and salary/commission.
