Hello from Erie, PA

Hi Everyone!

First, to begin, I would like to introduce myself for context. I am 25 years old with 2 years in the workforce as a fraud analyst; BA in Intelligence studies. My life/career path, I imagine, is similar to many that found themselves yearning for more than a 9 to 5 day in a cubicle. Fortunately, my brother in law, @Eddie Werner, has been investing in rental properties in the Pittsburgh area for the past three years and directed me to BP and its resources.

My focus is in rental properties as well, since I am working toward building long term wealth. Currently, I am reading The Book on Rental Property Investments, which is an invaluable resource to educate oneself. There is no better place to start than at the beginning with the proper education (victory loves preparation).

I have prepared a year long plan that entails three specific facets. First, read/research/study all that I can, continuously building on previous knowledge gained. Second, familiarize myself with the industry by going out and meeting local investors, building relationships both local and here on BP. Lastly, I have set a strict budget (as well as retailored my lifestyle) in order to hit a certain savings by December, 2016. This savings will go toward my first investment. This is not to say that I will be ready to invest then, I will simply be prepared to if I am. Perhaps I will discover that I may want to earn my real estate license prior to investing; if so, so be it. I will continue to invest in myself until I am ready to invest in my first property.

So, that is who I am and where I am headed. I look forward to connecting with you and learning more every day!

Best,

Matt Sutton
