Newbie from Smithfield, Virginia

Hi everyone.  My name is Brian, a new real estate investor.  Not quite an investor yet, it's all just a thought and dream for now.  I am a constant learner and continuous improver.

I live in Smithfield, Virginia, in the southeast of the state, not far from Norfolk and Virginia Beach.  This is the home of Virginia ham.

I am a veteran of the US Navy, originally from New York.  I've lived in Maryland, Florida, Texas, California, and more.  I owned one house in California and two houses in Virginia, which is the extent of my real estate experience to now.  I still have leftover debt from poor timing on purchases and sales.

I'm married with four kids, all girls.  I work in logistics and enjoy my career and it's development.  I would eventually like to give up the 9 to 5 workday, but I'm realistic and know that is a long way off at this point.

I have massive debt to tackle as I work to build a real estate investing business (going to blog about my journey).  I'm surrounded by motivation, and full of sarcasm.  I am into road cycling, homebrewing (making beer at home), and sports.

For my real estate investing, I am seeking to network, especially locally where I can meet in person.  I'm on BP to learn and connect with others.  I'm interested in buy and hold investments and potentially wholesaling.  I look forward to learning from everyone and paying it forward at some point.  Thanks.

-Brian
