Hello All - I live in Los Angeles and I have done some investing in real estate previously (a direct investment in a duplex and also LP interests in ventures focused on acquiring properties for conversion to work-live lofts).  I have been listening to the BP podcast for a few weeks as I explore more hands on investing.  In my day job, I am a corporate and securities lawyer and I frequently help real estate developers structure the legal entities they utilize for the investments and also comply with federal and state securities laws in connection with bringing on investors.  I am exploring the possibility of acquiring single family or multi-family developments in connection with a buy-and-hold strategy for long-term passive income and in connection with tax planning.

@Joshua Schneiderman. Welcome to BP! Sounds like your background is a natural fit as to the aspect of buy and hold that you are exploring.  As a buy and hold investor myself, I am intrigued by the idea of a small infill development project that would consist of rental homes.  So glad you found the podcasts. Enjoy the journey!
