Engineer who jumped ship to Real Estate
I was raised in San Diego, CA. Went to UCLA to study Mechanical Engineering. After graduating I worked at Southern California Edison (the power company) as an Engineering in their technology labs for 4 years. It was an enjoyable position but I realized pretty quickly that I was not meant to be an engineer. While working I pursued my own real estate investments and had some minor success (wholesaled a few deals, bought a rental, and flipped a small commercial lot). So after I decided to drop engineering I knew real estate was the field for me. Now I work for New Western Acquisitions, a small acquisitions firm that sells distressed single family homes to investors who want to fix and flip them for a profit. It is a great company to work for as I am able to help fellow investors find deals and achieve their investing goals.
