Hi Biggerpockets, my name is Derek. I am 19 years old (turning 20 in November) and am looking to get involved in the world of real estate. The idea of passive income every month is attractive, while also providing housing for others in terms of value. My first goal by the end of next year is to purchase my first property and have it occupied as a rental. I look forward to connecting with you!

Hey Derek, welcome to BP.  It's good to see another NKY guy on here. Make sure you listen to the podcasts and read as much as you can so you know as much as possible when you do your first deal. I highly recommend getting a 2-4 unit property if possible and live in one unit and rent out the others. Definitely favorable financing that way. I wish I had done that when I was younger because it's not as appealing with a wife and kids! Good luck to you!
