Hi! I've just joined biggerpockets to learn about the best options for buy my first REI. I hope to purchase a multifamily in Reading or Easton PA outright, improve it, and use the income to pay off my student loans more quickly. Over time I hope to build up a base of income from these types of properties and use the income for my retirement savings, which will hopefully allow me to retire early. I have never purchased a property, although my partner of 4 years owns the home we currently live in (mortgaged) and has purchased several single family homes over the years. I have several areas of interest on BP including auction sites, avoiding vacancy, Section 8, and learning how to evaluate a "good deal" and avoid money pits. I am willing to put a moderate amount of money/work into making units livable but am looking to keep costs low so as to avoid financing if possible.
