Good morning all,
My name is Jerry Stanford and I am born and raised resident of IL. I became interested in Real Estate Investing many years ago and had a great mentor. Unfortunately, my mentor got taken by some of the mentees he was helping and ending up in some serious financial jeopardy and he had to focus on that. I began to get a good understand of wholesaling and lease options using some cash and credit partners. Since then I haven't been very active in Real Estate until last year. I began mentoring with Cody Sperber and began to learn again but I had to stop due to financial difficulties of my own. I did get to the point of speaking to sellers and negotiating and getting to the point of contracting signing. I did not get a chance to get them signed as I couldn't determine how to overcome a few objections. Since that time I have continued to search and try to determine how to find a mentor/coach and a blueprint/plan for real estate investing. No particular strategy in mind although I get the impression that wholesaling may be a good entry point. I've gotten my real estate license for IL because I was not successful in finding a broker who was willing to be investor friendly and decided I wanted to be my own broker and to be investor friendly for those investors in IL or those looking to invest in IL. I've been perusing courses to develop ideas and strategies that I may use in investing but as has been noting multiple times on BP, the costs of some can be prohibitive. I find many suggest reading BP and gathering information and asking questions in the forum as an inexpensive way to invest and network. I do see the value in doing that and plan to do so quite extensively. I have yet to do a deal and I would like to have a mentor/coach that is local to Chicago, but doesn't have to be, that wouldn't mind walking me through investing from beginning to end...someone that can help me with find motivated sellers, marketing to them, speaking and negotiating with them, analyzing the property, finding the motivated buyers and using all the right forms that are legal and will protect my business and myself. I am find with virtual coaching as well as local as long as the mentor/coach is willing to be accessible to answer questions, review deals, etc...in a timely fashion as time is truly money in real estate investing. Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to be part of this community as I have already seen great value in it and hope to add even more value in the very near future....
