Hey everyone!! My name is Matthew Jones, and I currently live in Cornelius, NC. Cornelius, is about 15 miles north of Charlotte. I have lived in Cornelius for 15 months, and I love it here! My current living situation is quite interested. I am renting a house that is on 5 acres right on Lake Norman! (This could be an investment opportunity for somewhere here...I dont have deep enough pockets...yet!!!) I was born and raised in Binghamton, NY (Upstate) and after 26 years there, I decided it was time for a change.

I have been interested in Real Estate for as long as I can remember. As a kid, I would grab the local real estate listings wherever I was and look and dream BIG and tell myself that I want to be in real estate some day. Now a days, I am always browsing internet sites for listings and searching for deals, as well as reading whatever I can get my hands on to learn more about real estate.

Currently, I work for TIAA-CREF as a Business Metrics Analyst, but I am finding that the corporate world just isnt exciting enough for me. There is really no thrill in it. I believe there is no better time than now, and I am glad I found this site.

My current goal/plan is to buy and hold small multi-family units, as well as single family units. My first purchase will most likely be a duplex/triplex that I will live in and manage.

I would love to meet some locals to work with. I have a lot that I can bring to the table. I am super ambitious, and not afraid to work tirelessly to get a job done. I have a small background in construction, and I am as handy as they come.

Anyways, enough about me! I am excited to be here and learn from you all, or ya'll as I saw now since I am a southerner lol.

- Matt

@James Slaughter...thanks for the welcome! I really love it down here! Have you ever heard of the real estate agent BJ Knox? I randomly met her at a bar in Cornelius a few weeks ago and we talked real estate. She was telling me her family has been in this area since the 1700s....Im sure they made a killing when Lake Norman was created. Maybe I can tap your brain some day, and in return, would be glad to help you with anything I can!

@Jinyu D., I would be glad to help with whatever I can. It is a great area!

@Russell Brazil what kind of properties do you invest in down my way if you dont mind me asking?

@Christopher Stanis small world man! I was back up there not too long ago. My mom just bought a lake house on Lake O Meadows right over the PA border from Apalachin so I had to check it out. Ill hit you up for sure when I come back! Right before I decided to move down here, I was real close to purchasing a duplex in Binghamton since there are millions of duplexes there. It is a much different market down here.
