New from Charlotte, NC

Hello everyone,

I'm new to the site from Charlotte, NC. I was recommended to join BP by someone from another forum when the topic of buying multifamily properties came up.

I have an interest in real estate, mainly in multifamily units and possibly flipping. I plan to have many hours invested in reading and listening to podcasts to learn all about real estate investing, since I know very little. During that time I am planning on selling assets that aren't necessary (motorcycle, 2nd car, etc) to build capital for future financing. Right now I mostly work paycheck to paycheck, but I am in the last phase of paying off short-term debt (thanks Dave Ramsey), and I am considering picking up a part-time job to save an additional $200-250/week.

A little bit of background info: I am 28 years old and work for a small logistics company as the operations manager, with a medicore income for my job title. I am currently attending Appalachian State as a distance ed (online) student for a BSBA. I was a finance and accounting major at UNCC in my early 20's but my younger self sought work and money over education and now I am in no position to finish those degrees as a traditional, full-time, student. As much as I want to finish my undergrad in Finance, ASU simply does not offer it online.

My ultimate goal is to build wealth and be in a great financial position in the next 10 years. I want my future wife and kids to have a good life without financial worry. I want to have a success story that I can share and inspire people when they read it. A beach house and house in the Rockies wouldn't be bad either!

If there are any articles, books, or particular podcasts that I should be familiar with, please link them so I can get busy! Also, if anyone is in the area and has suggestions on networking, I am always open to meeting new people and exploring opportunities.

Thanks for reading and I hope to contribute to the site as much as possible!
