Hello Bigger Pockets family! My name is Jason and I live here in the Sacramento CA area. I currently work as a mortgage specialist for a big bank but I am in the process of getting my RE agent license.

I am a knowledge seeker and while educating myself for my license I fell in love with real estate as a whole just like most of you.

This obsession as I would call it has led me to consume every book, podcast, and forum post I can get my hands on. I appreciate everyone on this site for the wealth of knowledge they are willing to share and the welcome arms displayed for newbies.

If anyone knows of any REIA type meetings in the area coming up I'd appreciate it (I reached out to the couple in the area I found but there are currently no meetings scheduled).

My goal so far (please feel free shoot holes in this plan as I love learning from constructive criticism)...once I get my 'wife hack' situation figured out (she is the greatest woman I know but is one of the most risk adverse people I've ever met. Haha), is to personally learn about rehab and building my 'team' by first buying an owner occupied. Following the 70% rule with a FHA 203K loan since there are so many contractor 'stipulations' I see it as a safeguard to some of the things I may not know about. If all goes well and we finish with decent equity in the home my wife has proof I can do it and I start my future in fix and flips and eventually with enough capital buy and holds to build up a passive income portfolio.

Well, thanks for reading my post and my apologies for the length. (Newbie energy I guess!)
