Globe Trotting Enthusiast Interested in Real Estate Investment

Greetings BiggerPockets Family, 

After listening to almost ten podcasts, I've finally decided to take the plunge and join the community.  I hail from Boston, MA but love traveling the world in my free time and participating in international development activities.  I've traveled to over 25 countries mostly in Africa and a few in Southeast Asia and Europe, and I am looking to add to my passport every year if possible.  I'm currently a full-time management consultant working in the healthcare arena.

I recently decided to settle down both relationship wise and with buying a home.  We decided to be extra ambitious and plan a wedding and  close on our first house (a multi-family) at the same time.  My wedding is at the end of this month, and we close in 14 days. I'm excited and nervous at the same time.  The process of attending the first time home-buyers class, landlord training, and working with real estate agents, lawyers, inspectors and the like has given me the confidence to look ahead to the next opportunity.  I have faith we will close this transaction out strong, and I'm looking into the future because I believe I can do this real estate buying thing again.    

I came to biggerpockets to arm myself with the tools and knowledge to make the most informed decision on when and where I enter the market as an investor.  I look forward to learning from you all and hopefully getting to the point where I can drop some gems of wisdom myself.

Thanks for the welcome Peter!   I also appreciate the well wishes.  Australia is on my hit list of places I need to see at some point so I will definitely reach out to you when I plan my trip there in the next few years.
