I've been checking out the podcasts and looking through the site for a couple of weeks now. I've been chatting with a buddy in Austin that turned me onto a few books and this site. I'm 35 and I want to get into something that will help generate some extra revenue. I work as an IT enterprise architect and I love my job. My wife and I have been in our house for a while and were thinking about moving and possibly renting it out. We've also talked about buying a rental property (either a single or duplex).

But for now I'm just doing a lot of learning and research. My goal is to get my first property within the next 6-12 months.
