Fresh Blood in the Minneapolis, MN Area!!!
Hello BiggerPockets!!!
First off, I'd like to say that this has been a long time coming, I've been lurking this forum for about half a year now and have been absorbing all of the knowledge I possibly can. It's been painfully boring, but I've also listened to every single BiggerPockets podcast. All kidding aside, I'd like to give a big thanks to @Joshua Dorkinand @Brandon Turner, you guys really have made this an enjoyable learning experience!
A little about me- I'm a 25 year old software engineer that works for a real estate statistics company. I also own a performance vehicle dealership. I purchased my first house (ugly, beat up foreclosure in New Brighton, Minnesota) fresh out of college and proceeded to renovate the house room by room (entire kitchen, bathroom, knocked out walls to make open concept, tons of tiling/flooring) with my girlfriend. I was never really happy with this house, even after renovating it, and spent most nights dreaming of owning property on the legendary Lake Minnetonka. After almost 1.5 years of searching every single day, the perfect lakefront property popped up on the market and I knew it was time. I submitted an offer and was under contract in less than a week. My agent put my newly renovated house up on the market and sold it shortly after for a hefty profit. I'm now living every day like it's a vacation on the beautiful lake!
I've saved up what I think is a remarkable amount of cash for somebody my age and I have a vast amount of rehabbing real estate and mechanical knowledge. I think it's time to get a few rentals and maybe a couple flips under my belt!
I'd really like to meet some wholesalers and other investors that have been successful in my local markets (Wayzata, Chanhassen, Spring Park, St Louis Park, Hopkins, Minneapolis, St Paul). Also, if anybody has any tips or advice, I'm all ears!
