Hello BP community!  I've just stumbled onto this site while looking to find out more about Property Management companies in Boston.  My background is that I grew up in Cambridge, MA and then went out of state for college and have been working outside of MA ever since.  I recently helped my parents move from the suburbs back into Boston (Jamaica Plain) so that they're both closer to work, their doctors, supermarkets, as well as no longer dependant on a car with access to fairly good transportation options (Orange Line) as their reflexes and need for busy days start to slow.

When my parents moved into the house that I helped them buy, we ended up starting to learn about being a landlord when renting out their house in the suburbs.  I have some experience as a property investor as I acquired a house in Denver 10+ years ago when I was working there for a few years, and after relocating out of Denver, kept it with a friend's property management company taking care of everything so that owning the Denver house has been one of the most painless investments I've ever made.  Things worked out so well in the Boston purchase, I decided to buy another house in Boston (also in Jamaica Plain) last year with my dad as my eyes and ears on the ground.  Now that we've closed, fixed the house up a bit (basic paint, windows, a few other cosmetics), and have it rented out for positive cash-flow, I'm looking to bring on board a property management company so that I don't have a situation of my dad getting called up in the middle of the night if there is an issue with the toilet, power, etc.

If this works out, I'm hopeful to continue learning and also acquiring more properties for my buy and hold approach.  Looking forward to both learning from the community and also sharing my experience (ups and downs),

James
