Future Investor Doing Some Research

Hello everyone. I am currently in the Navy stationed in Japan until 2016, so I am not looking to actually invest for about 2 more years. I've been doing a lot of reading, and recently signed up with BP, along with a couple other sites that my father recommended. Over the last few days I have been going through homepath.com, and homesteps.com, looking at houses/duplex properties in the Pittsburgh/Northwest PA, and Northeast Ohio area that have been repossessed and see what places look like at different prices, and seeing if I can at least get a feel of what is wrong with a place through glance at whatever pictures are posted. I've also been looking at the areas where these properties are on areavibes.com, and then I've been virtually driving through the areas on Google street view. What other things would you recommend for me to do to try and become as educated as possible over the next couple years?

Thanks in advance!
