New member from Northwest Indiana (NWIN)

Hello BPers,

I'm new here and just wanted to say hello and get a feel for the culture on the forum at Bigger Pockets. I've been listening to the podcasts lately and really enjoy them. Very informative stuff Josh, Brandon and guests have to offer. You guys are doing a great service for many people with the site and podcasts. Thanks.

A little about me, I'm new to real estate investing. I'm married with kids, in the IT industry and live in Northwest Indiana. I've been interested in real estate for a few years now and became interested from watching various flipping shows. I'd like to get into the business part-time initially and eventually full-time if possible.

Short term goals are taking the Real Estate courses and test and to purchase my first property in the next 12/18 months. Long term goals: Learn as much as possible about real estate investing and INVEST! Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

If anyone has any info on real estate meetings in my area, I'd love to hear.
