New blood in Southern California

Hello, my name is Jim and I live in work in Orange County, CA. Althrough I haven't picked up any best selling titles, I eager to learn about opportunities in REI.

I've worked in IT for the last 20 years and looking to explore new avenues of success and diversify my portfolio over the next 15-20 years. Most of my savings are currently tied up in traditional corporate vehicles, e.g. stocks, 401K, IRA and brokerage accounts.

I'm in my early 40s, purchase my 4th home last year and currently living in South OC with my beautiful family of four.

I'm looking forward to your advice, direction and experience (both success and failure) in RE.
