Newbie needing guidance

Posted

Good morning guys, my name is Adam and I recently moved from Illinois to Indiana, Fort Wayne to be precise. I have been here for a year now and I’m very interested in getting into Real Estate Investing. We have a transportation business that picking up and I would like to use some of the cash to invest in some rental properties. But I have no clue how the market works and I would like to have someone guide me in the right directions. Thanks so much!

@Adam Benjamin Sanoe, congrats on running a successful business! Here are some general tips:

1. Identify your goals-- what do you want to get out of real estate investing? Cashflow, appreciation, etc. Think about your lifestyle and wealth strategy in relation to real estate.

2. Determine where you want to invest.

3. Determine your strategy. This will be informed by where you invest because certain markets are better for certain strategies than others

4. Learn about your market and strategy. Network, read, drive around your area, etc.

5. Apply what you've learned and take action.
