Hello, Ciao, and Aloha to the Bigger Pockets community!
I have been learning SO much from the amazing content posted within this site, it's truly amazing, a hidden gem of all things Real Estate investing. So thank you to everyone that has contributed! I only intend on giving back over time. :)
I have experience as a sales agent renting and selling in NYC and I'm still a licensed RE agent. I've also helped a friend flip a few houses in Staten Island and Philadelphia. From acquisition, design, development, installation, management, marketing, and sales - just enough to get my feet wet and test the waters.
Music and ecologically responsible endeavors are my true passion, so I am seeking to bring them together in unique ways for the urban environment. The housing industry just wastes so much material, and the material put into new houses is quite toxic!
William McDonough is a TRUE INSPIRATION and I believe we should all be heading in this direction for the benefit of all. He's working on huge scales and designing 'Green' cities in China among other places. Check out his book "Cradle to Cradle" or see a TED talk he gives: http://www.ted.com/talks/william_mcdonough_on_cradle_to_cradle_design.html
As an example - Gotham Greens partnered with Whole Foods recently to open the first rooftop commercial greenhouse on top of a supermarket. This is also a partnership with NY State as they received grants to remediate the site before construction began. This is REAL ESTATE and there's plenty of money $$$ to be made in this 'Green' building sector! Just sayin ;)
