Hi BP members!

My name is Stephen and I am a recent college graduate working as an Engineer in SLO county on the central coast of CA. I have always said I want to work for myself one day and real estate investing seems like a fun and achievable way to do so.

I just read Rich Dad Poor Dad and was very inspired to learn more and look to take action at real estate investing. I have a small amount saved up and want to spend the next year or so saving as much as possible while I learn and network. I still haven't gotten as far as deciding which type of real estate investing I would like to start with. My goal is to make a purchase early in 2015.

As well as investment properties, I would like to eventually buy a house for myself to live in. If there are any topics or advice about doing this that you know of, please share them with me!

I would love to network with people in my area and learn more about how others cope in expensive areas such as my own. If you have any good book or thread recommendations please let me know! I look forward to exploring the site with everyone!
