Newbie living/working in Manhattan, NYC

Hey everyone -

My name is Tom, I'm in my early 20's from NJ, living and working in Manhattan.

I'm very interested in Real Estate Investing, and have found your forum and have been reading as many books as I can get my hands on.

I'm looking to join the REIA in NYC, within the next week, and start networking.

My primary goal right now would to have a cash flowing property. Even better would be to have a live-in Duplex that is cashflowing, but the property would have to be commuting distance to Manhattan.

My longer term goal is to build $1M net worth from REI.

I realize that Mahhattan is a very extreme place to start REI, but any tips or hints for someone young living looking to start ASAP, is greatly appreciated!

Look forward to meeting some of you soon.
